A General Reference for Corporate Outings

Team building activities for corporations are the norm. What’s different in the casino industry however, is that someone still has to “man” — or “woman,” the floor, which makes an all inclusive team building event almost impossible. Nevertheless, our casino — let’s call it The All-Star Casino — is known for trendsetting.

Last year we had our first team building event, an outing at Conundrum Escape Room. Although it went well, producing brainpower to navigate its rooms was more of a task than a retreat. Still, I don’t know any of us who would rather put on a blindfold and fall backwards, trusting that our fellow team members will catch us.

I understand the blindfold activity builds trust, but most people prefer to pull someone to the side and discuss issues face to face, that builds trust more than anything.

This week, we had our second team building event at Top Golf. I had never been, and don’t play golf, but was happy that I would not have to produce much brain power. Our group consisted of Pit Managers and TGAMs (Table Games Assistant Managers), and included a buffet featuring…
