Following the road less traveled takes grit. For others, like Vegas emcees ChiefDVB and ?aquez, it’s the only option. Continuing with his steady stream of dope releases, ChiefDVB reups with another banger. "Trailblazerz" touts a contagious chorus ripe with skateboarding references in the great American city of Las Vegas. One would reckon that if you have what it takes to hit four wheels in the thick of a Las Vegas summer, then your qualified to speak game.

Board flips and staircases aren’t the only skills here, as Trade Voorhees' lush, bass-driven synths are enough to put the entire Southwest on notice. "Trailblazerz" has it all; word play, low and high end, a dope mix, and a fire feature. There is no drop off between ChiefDVB and mainstay ?aquez, if anything, he pushes the last leg toward victory. From his first rhyme, where he sees "Satan on both shoulders," his words continue to place images into your mental.

ChiefDVB flexes his muscle and proves his hook mastery with "been eating concrete since a kid like Ramen." Where his Instagram posts were once all dogs and trees, they now revolve around the studio, mixing and mastering, and new gear. His dedication is not only evident but blaring. He dares to be himself, soon the game will chant his name.

As for the video, ChiefDVB goes "past the peak." Locals go where tourists won’t, and that’s exactly where we find these two: in the alleys tourists avoid. Westside Rhodes is right there, camera in hand, broadcasting grainy footage with The Strat in the background. This is a video you’ll have to watch more than once, for there’s nothing more fresh than dope bars whilst exiting the monorail station.

Although ChiefDVB is about that Vegas life, he’s trailblazing enough for Coach Billups and Dame Dolla to take notice inside the Moda Center in Portland. The sky’s the limit for those taking the road less traveled.
